UPCOMING EVENTS:

SUMMER SOLSTICE HEALING CIRCLE                     with VICKI NOBLE

Sponsored by Center for the Divine Feminine and the Women's Spirituality MA Program,

INSTITUTE OF TRANSPERSONAL PSYCHOLOGY

Palo Alto, California

Saturday, June 21 - 7 PM

Vicki Noble, MA, shamanic healer and priestess, has been facilitating the Transformational Healing Ritual for twenty-five years with many fine results. In this unusual format—unique to Westerners but routine to earth-based tribal people around the world, the "audience" or community of people become the "healers." Whoever in our community is sick is encouraged to come to the center of the circle and to be energized  by the drumming, chanting, and the intentions and presence of all members of the circle. Everyone participates—everyone benefits. The high-vibrational energies that are magnetized through this contemporary version of an ancient shamanistic practice are powerful and intelligent.

Together we will be creating a strong sacred rhythm which is the heart of the healing ceremony. Through drumming and chanting, we “let the rhythm unlock the pattern” of illness and dis-ease, making it possible for each body and soul to return to health. Bring a drum if you like, or come prepared to join your voice with the others for healing—we raise and honor the shakti (energy), and we sing as if someone’s life depends on it!

No prior experience of healing is required—as there is an intelligence in the hands of each participant that knows exactly what to do.

Donations welcome.

WOMEN'S SACRED TIME, SACRED SPACE:

A reclamation of women's menstrual rites through the living waters of mikvah

Is the mikvah, the traditional Jewish ritual bath, an oppressive patriarchal rite or a ritual of renewal and transformation first created by women? Join us as we explore its ancient roots and modern meanings. In this three-part series, Deborah J. Grenn, Ph.D, founder of The Lilith Institute, will discuss the power of self-designed seclusion in women's menstrual rites and the traditional laws concerning ritual purity in the Jewish community. Participants will leave this program with new ideas, places and rituals to create sacred time and space every month, renewed from Jewish tradition. This series includes one day at Chochmat and two classes visiting a natural swimming hole in the Redwoods of Point Reyes and a modern East Bay mikvah.

Betty De Shong Meador is a Jungian analyst, member of the C.G.
